BLOG 9: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME
Social work is distinguished by its critical nature and commitment to human rights, it has been very gratifying to know what the graduate colleagues are practicing in this career. However, it has been very problematic to know that only social psychology is passed, which focuses on the contexts, on the subject of intervention and not on a psychology for the social worker himself, who has to deal with all kinds of problems faced by the subjects , from jail to SENAME. The social worker often has to know very harsh realities, with which he has to work in the field, but it is important to add to the curriculum that helps these professionals to deal with the consequences of facing these realities, a psychological help that be appropriate for professionals, who will intervene "coldly" on the ground. For this reason, it is necessary to implement teaching methods that do not stay in the classroom, but that from the first academic year take students to know the different realities that we do not know, in order to visually face different phenomena such as poverty and poverty. inequality. It would be very interesting to have more practice at this University, I feel that it focuses a lot on theory and moves away from practice, clearly because of the privilege that this university has and how distinguished it is for the academic world. But it is not enough to stay in theory when the future professional decides to work with this type of realities, of which he will have to build up the courage to endure all kinds of pain and feelings caused by knowing those realities. There are students who have no idea how crude this system can be, (I include myself) that is why I would modify the curriculum to have comprehensive psychology for the field professionals themselves.
i agree with you, social work should have psichology courses to treat themselves

ResponderEliminarvery important what you pose
cool how critical you are about yourself and your career.
ResponderEliminarI agree with you related with possible subject about "how to face reality being social worker". But, I disagree with you in relation with watch the problems of the reality in person. One of the reasons why we don't have practice, is because the people and their problems they cannot become a show or museum. These people do not have to show their reality for our learning.
